Dr Steven Angelides (Centre for Women's Studies & Gender Research/Sociology)
Steven's research interests are focused on the history and theory of genders and sexualities. He has particular interests in poststructuralism and deconstruction; feminist and queer theories; and psychoanalytic theories of gender, sexuality and subjectivity. His current research focuses on historical and contemporary constructions of child sexuality and sexual abuse.
Dr Sharon Bickle (Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research)
Sharon's research focuses on feminist and queer literary studies with a particular concern for women's poetry; biography, autobiography and life-writing; the politics of the "gendered" archive; and scholarly editing. Central to this research are the pre-modern lesbian poets, "Michael Field".
Associate Professor Mayanne Dever (Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research)
Maryanne's research interests encompass feminist literary and cultural studies and applied social research. In the area of literary studies, she focuses on critical engagements with literary archives and on Australian women's writing of the 1930s and 1940s. She also researches on questions of gender and higher education.
Dr Suzanne Fraser (Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research)
Suzanne's research interests centre on the relationships between ideas of the body, gender, intoxication and compulsion, and bodily modification and enhancement. Her most recent research has used the work of Karen Barad, Judith Butler and John Law to examine political aspects of health and disease, including illicit drug use and Hepatitis C prevention.
Dr JaneMaree Maher (Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research)
JaneMaree's research interests are focused on work/family balance, women's mothering and employment, and pregnancy and birth. Her recent work on mothering has been published in the Journal of Sociology and Australian Feminist Studies.
Dr Ann Vickery (Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research)
Ann's interests include feminist literary and cultural studies, modernism, postmodernism, canon and community formations, Australian literature, American literature, and theories of influence and affiliation.
