"Pathways to Interpreting and Translating'
As part of the Victorian Government Language Services Strategy in the 2004/2005 financial year the Victorian Office of Multicultural Affairs (VOMA) contracted Translation Studies at Monash University to provide research into the supply and quality of interpreters and translators in Victoria, particularly in new and emerging languages. (See VOMA .) The research was completed in July 2005.
The report recommends implementation of a 'pathways process' which presents a series Pathways address various areas of concern, focussing on improving quality, service delivery, professionalism, and training options.
In May 2006, Dr Wilson and her research team of Leah Gerber, Juliet Zhao and Victoria Kristoffersen were nominated for a Monash Industry Engagement Award for their application of research to industry and the community in 2005.
