Lecturer A in the Archaeology and Ancient History of the Mediterranean
The School of Historical Studies seeks to appoint an 11 month, full-time contract position teaching into the archaeology/ancient history of the Mediterranean programme. The appointee will be required to teach the following units:AAH1010 - Ancient Civilizations of the Bronze Age (Caulfield 1st semester)
AAH1020 - Ancient Civilizations of the first millennium (Caulfield 2nd semester)
AAH2/3220 - Alexander and his world (Clayton/Caulfield 1st semester)
AAH2/3260 - Imperial Rome – a study in power and perversion (Caulfield 2nd semester)
Revision of the unit Alexander and his World is necessary.

Selection criteria
Applicants should have a PhD, experience in teaching and be research active. Essential:- PhD and be research active
- Expertise in the archaeology and ancient history of the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean and other related regions at higher degree level
- a sound knowledge of the cultural evolution of the Mediterranean world from the Bronze Age to Classical Period
- high quality teaching experience at tertiary level
- ability to work as part of a team
- good organizational and administrative skills
